How long will my portrait take?

Accepted Answer

Portraits are typically completed within 2–3 weeks of receiving your order and reference photos. Shipping time is additional and typically takes 4–10 business days. If you have a special date in mind, please let me know when ordering.

For Christmas commissions, I recommend ordering at least six weeks in advance to allow plenty of time for painting and holiday shipping.

Where do you ship?

Portraits are currently available for shipping within Canada. Shipping is additional and is a flat rate of $25. Each piece is carefully packaged and shipped flat in protective packaging to help ensure it arrives safely.
Local pickup in Halifax is also available.

Question 3

What kind of photo should I send?

Accepted Answer

A clear, well-lit photo taken as straight-on as possible works best. You’re also welcome to upload additional photos that show any details you’d especially like me to capture. I’ll ask for the property address in the commission form as well, so I can reference Google Maps if needed.

Question 4

Does it have to be a house?

Accepted Answer

Not at all, any building works. I can paint homes, cottages, businesses and other meaningful buildings or places. If you have something a little different in mind, I’d love to hear about it.

Question 5

Can I request changes to the photo?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Small changes such as removing cars, garbage bins or other distracting elements can usually be made. You can include any requests when submitting your commission.

Can I give a portrait as a gift?

Absolutely. Many of my portraits are commissioned as gifts for weddings, anniversaries, housewarmings, holidays or simply to remember a special place.

Does the portrait come framed?

Portraits are sold unframed so you can choose a frame that suits your space and style.

Question 8

Can you include pets?

Accepted Answer

Small pets can sometimes be included as part of the scene, such as sitting on the front step or tucked into the garden. Feel free to include your request when submitting your commission.
